Hello all. I am so glad I came upon this website. It has given me so much information! I currently have 3 kittens. Precious a 5 month old calico, Shadow a 4 month old black kitten, and Angel a 5 month old gray kitten. I have had SO much trouble with kittens over the past 4 months. To start out, in may I got Precious first. She was only 4 weeks old and couldn't walk on her back legs very well. Whenever she got better and could walk, me and my husband decided to get her a play buddy. We adopted a black and white kitten and named him Smokey. Not 2 weeks later Smokey, very suddently, I noticed he was congested. Just as my husband got him to the vet he was gone. The vet said he had had pneumonia. A few weeks later we got Angel and an orange striped kitten we named Tigger. A few days later we noticed Tigger had very runny diarrhea and blood in his stool. We immediately took him to the vet. They said he had coccidia. That is when we started feeding them the canned food so that he could get some weight on him, because he was just fur and bones. The vet gave us some medicine Amforal/Albon. We tried everything. But he still kept getting diarrhea that was just like water. The vet decided to keep him for a few days but the first day they kept him he died. They said he was bleeding through his rectum but didn't know what actually killed him. The vet decided to open him up to look, but never found anything. A few weeks after that we got Shadow and everything has been ok since then except they still occasionally get diarrhea and they have been through several doses of Amforal/Albon. Anyway I know that is a long introduction, but I am a very big cat lover. ^.^
