Hi everyone I have a cat dedalus who is 8 months and recently I read all these things about kibble and hpw bad it is for you cat sp I am thinking of switching him to raw diet. I will probably try and do the same with my ferrets. The thing is I don't know anything about raw feeding and what does it include. What kibd of food should he eat and what not. Can I combine it with canned cat food or no. Are there any dangers from feeding raw? I would appreciate any inputs. Thank ypu!!!!

there are a couple of stickies at the top of this forum page with great general info and links about feeding raw/home cooked diets for cats; you may want to start here: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/263955/helpful-resources-raw-home-cooked-cat-food-forum.  ferrets will have different nutritional needs, so you may want to check with other ferret owners about feeding them raw.

i'm currently feeding raw and some quality canned food.  one of my cats likes them mixed together some days, and on other days he just wants canned.  we're going to try a home cooked recipe next to see if it's more palatable to him.

most raw feeders use a mix of proteins: chicken, turkey, duck, beef, pork, even rabbit and venison.  it's about what you can source safely (i prefer organic, free range chickens that are treated and slaughtered humanely, so that's what i look for for my cats).  it's important that each meal you feed your cat is balanced.  there are quite a few good recipes and links on this thread: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/264154/raw-feeding-resources.  good luck!
