That's crazy. Do they have bobcats there?
A few years ago there was a cougar (or some other larger cat) on the loose in the city. Everyone was in panic mode.
Oh yeah, I don't think we have chupacabra here, but maybe the odd sasquatch.
Big cats are making their way back to all sorts of niches where they have been driven out in the past. They are so elusive that they go unnoticed most of the time. They know of 11 distinct cougars around the city where I live. They don't advertise it as they don't want people out hunting them. If they know of 11, you wonder how many are really out there. My neighbor actually sited one once on her drive to work (a few miles from where we lived).
saquatch never really got my attetions. Maybe becouse I am from Italy. I though yeti might be interesting. Here in oregon Cougars do show up in suburban outskirts, pepole usually freak. & I feel bad for them becouse after all we are taking over their territory, not their other way around.
I just though it was really funny that these folks think they have a strain of giant cats on the loose.
If that is true....
Years ago we had a big cat loose in our area. Supposedly got away from a small circus that overwintered here. Mom and her dad heard it scream and Mom's sister looked up as she drove home one evening and it was running along side her car! The neighbor who owned the land south of my grandfather's lost two large dogs. (His son trained them as attack dogs.)
Currently, we just have bobcats behind us. On that same neighbors property (unreclaimed coal strip pits).
