Hello all, I just posted a thread in the 'stray cats' section, and so came here to introduce myself.
My name is Jen and I currently have a few cats.
Mew is my 13 year old female DSH grey tabby. I've had her since she was born. She now has quite a few sensitive stomach issues, but I have finally found a food that she will not vomit up. She rules with an iron fist.
Tuxedo is about 7 years old, a DLH black and white boy. Very handsome. We took him in as a friendly and neutered stray five years ago. Not long after taking him in he developed crystals and blocked. After a week at the vet he came home and has no problems since.
Lemony Snicket came to me as a kitten when I was a dog groomer. My employer at the time was going to send her to a farm. I quickly took her home. She was an evil monster, and had me in tears of frustration several times. I had her spayed at 7 months, and she has been the sweetest cat ever since. We joke that her uterus was the source of her evil.
She is now about 3 years old, and a brown tabby and white DSH.
Eggies also came to me as a kitten when I was a dog groomer, but she was only 2 days old. She came with her brother Bacon, but unfortunately he didn't make it. They were in an old building that was being demolished, and the workers brought them in. I raised her and kept her, because you know, I needed another cat like a hole in the head. She is 2 years old, and also a brown tabby and white DSH.
Smeggie is my very handsome and very special 1 year old DSH grey tabby. I got him as a kitten from a stray cat. He is the love of my life and just puuuuurfect in every way.
And I have eight (found a fabulous home in toronto for one) wonderfully socialized, healthy, well-kissed indoor kittens (you can see my other post if you need to). They were born May 4th-ish. I simply love them all, but unfortunately can not keep them. I have enough cats.
But I'm terrified to find them homes, lest someone 'unsavory' get their hands on them. It's actually very stressful, as I'm sure you know.
I also have three dogs. Two rottweilers, Fraulein and Sydney, and Butters the crazy boston terrier. All are great with the kittens, and the kittens are very used to the dogs. The kitten I placed went to a good friend of mine who breeds rotties, and her dogs all just love the kitten, and he them. Now I just need eight more homes like that.
