I love this brand. The garlic dills are good too and they also make pickled green tomatoes. YUM.
Frog?I hope not. I've wanted to try the pickles in a can for some time now. I thought I may as well do it, since my husband still isn't on board with the frog. But he will be, eventually, I'm sure.
Frog! He's going to be incredible!Frog?
I'm really sorry about the pickles. How many did you buy? They look delicious!
Frog! He's going to be incredible! It's just a matter of getting DH acclimated to the idea. DH should just go along with whatever I want to do...it would be like a zoo here!
The pickles came and I didn't care for them. DH, who isn't much of a pickle fan, thinks they're good. I think the problem is, to me they have a similar taste to olives, and I don't like olives. (Though I would not be opposed to naming the frog Olive, because it's such a cute name.) Maybe Olive if it's a girl, Oliver if it's a boy.
Are you talking about this grow a frog kit?

They are very good. I love all kinds of pickles but you can't find many good ones in the grocery store. Giant Food used to sell the best kosher and dill pickles in pickle barrels years ago but they don't sell them anymore.

A case of 12 cans.I'm really sorry about the pickles. How many did you buy?
Thanks. I am glad he likes them, too. I will give some to my cousin to try. She and the kids might like them.
I am sorry that you didn't care for them, at least your husband likes them so they aren't a total waste. I am not a huge olive fan either and they are a huge part of many Mediterranean dishes.
That's the frog! It did get terrible reviews, didn't it?
Are you talking about this grow a frog kit?
If so, have you read the reviews?? It sounds like a lot of work for a long time to me. You can't even touch them either according to what one reviewer said. Those reviews made the fondue pot look even more appealing.
I'm sorry you didn't like the pickles too. Amazon will take them back.
I prefer kitties, too. I am definitely low on cats. I've only got four.
I just finished looking up "grow a Frog'...all I can say is: yuck! Definitely not for me.. I prefer my kitty.....
When I was young, the town where I lived had a mall with a Swiss Colony Cheese store. It was fantastic. They sold pickles like that, out of a barrel. I wonder if they even have "box" stores anymore, or just sell online and in catalogs...

I love homemade pickles. I am going to see if the folks on the way to my mom's house are still selling them. They have a honor system; produce and pickles at a little stand in their front yard. They have a coffee jar to put the money in. The pickles are expensive, but they are so worth it. And the price of home canning supplies has gone up, so I understand why they have to charge so much.My grandmother used to make THE best kosher garlic pickles in the world. In England.
That's a bummer about the pickles. I don't care for olives either, so that would likely be my issue, too. Although if your husband likes them, it's not a complete waste. But still....

I would love to have the recipe!

If you're interested, I can PM you the recipe for the lime pickles. They are seriously good. A very old recipe from my grandmother. It's some what of an effort, because you soak them in lime overnight, then drain them, and then soak them in clear water and then drain them and so on. I know I have to usually sit down and figure out what day they're actually going to be ready for putting in the jars, so I don't plan anything else for that time. But they are worth it.
His too.I wonder if that is why I don't care for pickles now. I grew up on homemade pickles and now I don't care for them. I will specifically ask that pickles be left off of anything that normally has pickles added.
