If cat is half a British short hair, will they inherit the personality?

Bit of a chicken or the egg question but I’m wondering if my bsh cross will inherit the personality traits of pure bred bsh breeds. I love the laid back, lazy and quiet nature of bsh. I guess he’s already kind of like this, especially as he’s approaching his first year. His play obsession is dying ( very happy about this tbh ) … what are your experiences and opinions ??

I don’t know much about inheriting personality since all of mine have been rescues but I know that you start to see their personality come out in late kittenhood. I think he will end up being similar to what he is now.

In general, a cat's learned behavior comes from their mother. Their instinctual behavior comes from the father.

That's the big nature vs nurture debate isn't it!

If he's mellow now, he might be mellow later.

Genetics are weird too because you can have a very chatty cat because there's some Asian cat generations back in the line.
