On the bus yesterday there was a lady who got on the bus at the same hub I catch it. She boarded pushing a baby carriage, a big one, with what looked like a postal box with some stuff in it, also blanket and various other items. Not homeless, you could tell that, or hopefully not about to be. We (the few people on the bus) heard a cat meow from inside. Of course all the "awwws" ensued and cat talk, but this lady was obviously very upset, She just kept her eyes down despite all the sillyness of us ooooing and kept petting the kitty inside the carriage to calm it. The cat poked her (or his) head out, then the rest of the body, on a harness, looking at all us. Very pretty cat. One other said "oh there you are you cutie pie!" to which the cat meowed back at her, we all smiled, even the sad lady. As the bus took off you could see the pain in the woman's eyes, she started to cry, and tried not to let us all see, putting on sunglasses (it was a cloudy rainy day) My heart was breaking for this unkown lady and her cat.
I should say the cat had a nice little nook in the back of the carriage to nestle in, don't want to make it seem she had the cat crammed in there.
She had the top part of buggy open , but did then close it over the cat, not trapping her (or him) just creating a closed space, and she looked away out the window, sunglasses still on. Still petting the cat with tears in her eyes, you could see them on her face despite the sunglasses.
I wanted so much to talk to this woman, comfort her, ask what was going on, but you can't just go up to a stranger and ask things like that.
I got off the bus before they did, so I don't know their destination.
To the lady on the #4 bus out of the South Transfer Point, I hope you are OK.
