This is a total pity-me post.
But for the past five weeks I've been without my cat Allen, and I am dying. I had to take him to my parents because of the evergrowing rift between my roommate that eventually came to a head. I thought I'd get him back July 30th, which was when I moved in to my new apartment.
Not so, there was so much maintenance that had to be done on the apartment that I decided to wait. The maintenance is JUST getting finished now (which I find insane), but I still can't bring him down due to me going to the US Open in NY after labor day weekend. If I brought him down now, he'd be here two weeks before I'd have to take him back to my parents so they can watch him. Taking him to a cat sitter wouldn't be a good idea, I think, because he would get so stressed out.
To top it off, when I talk to my mother during the week, she jokes that she doesn't think they can give Allen back - "Honey, your dad would just be heartbroken! He and Allen are best buddies now." Which is true, since my dad started feeding Allen his meals, Allen has quite warmed up to him
And he has a blast at my parents, because it's huge, he can run around like a psycho, and try to make friends with their cat Merlin (a futile quest, though he keeps trying), and he's got my parents that absolutely spoil him.
But I want my baby!!!!
