That urge to push and pressure can be confusing. Shouldn't be too much longer. If she does begin to push, and strains for an hour without producing a kitten, your vet needs to be notified.
I'm concerned about that bright red blood. Has she started pushing yet? If she continues bleeding without producing a kitten soon, you'll need to get her to a vet.
Thank you for keeping up and the replies. I keep checking on her and she's keeps going into my upstairs bathroom and laying down so I grab her up and place her in her nesting tent. Here is another picture of more bleeding. Maybe I need to let her be for a while so she can feel comfortable to begin pushing.
Ok just talked to vet tech. She said leave her be and that the bleeding is fine just so there is not profuse amounts. If she does not have the kittens within 12 hours I will take her in. Vet closes at 7 after that it's emergency vet only.
I would really recommend that you at least show them photos. That is a lot of blood, and people who are seeing the photos think it looks urgent. Lying on her back is not normal birthing position either.
I think you are taking chances here. Bright red blood and no kitten is not good. Cats do not normally bleed like this before delivering kittens. I'll be surprised if she delivers healthy kittens.
A little red tinged discharge is okay, but this looks like bleeding. And I really do hope everything is okay. I know it's scary thinking of having to rush off to the vet, but things could get much scarier at home if you wait. Ultimately this is your cat and your decision.
