Yeah, my boss finally found out how much time I spent on TCS at work
No, I finally bit the bullet and decided to be mature and responsible and admit to my boss that after nearly five years my heart just wasn't in it anymore, and it was time to go. He was really stunned, but told me he really respected the fact that I was so honest with him, and was really happy about the way I'd gone about it.
It was so hard, I had written him a formal letter, and I sat there crying and sobbing and could barely get the words out.
I've never had such a good job, or such an amazing boss. He is more than a boss, he is my friend and mentor, and I will miss him incredibly. This was the hardest decision I have had to make in five years. Including my divorce.
I gave him six weeks notice and will finish up the day before Good Friday. He said we'll have to have a huge party and I'm looking forward to that with mixed feelings.
So, I wonder what the wide world will provide for me next? I resigned without another position to go to, but I think that it won't be too hard to secure something by mid-April. Ahhhh, it's a huge relief, but I'm terribly sad, too.
