Working for a small, weekly Catholic newspaper, I don't have the chance to have to interview many well know people. But, on Sat. afternoon, I had the chance to speak with Louie Vito, who appeared on "Dancing With the Stars" last season and came in fifth the men's halfpipe snowboarding event in the Olympics. His parents are members of a parish in the area our newspaper covers and Louie is known for his generosity in giving back to the church and local community. He's a nice young man and used the words "cool" and "stoked" a lot during the interview.
I was pretty "stoked" to hear from him because I turned down the chance to interview him on short notice last Wed. His mom called to say she could probably get him on the phone, but I was on my way out of the office to take my oldest kitty, Katie, to the vet. It was just a check up, so I offered to reschedule, but his mom thought it was sweet about Katie and told me she'd have him call another time. It's pretty "cool" that Louie does what his mom tells him to do.
