My sweet girls are 5.  They are sisters and I got them when they were born.  One is big boned... ok, alright, she is obese.  The other one is petit.  I can't afford wet food which I know is a solution for people when they have multi cat food issues.  I did some research and found a lady who used a large box, with a hole large enough for the small cat but not large enough for the big boned cat.  I tried this.  Worked fantastic the first day... until little cat startled herself and the food went flying and now she is afraid of it.  So I thought I would feed the large cat and at the same time feed the smaller cat somewhere else... big cat, who is the alpha, tried to eat both.  I put the big cat in my bedroom and gave the small cat food, but she wouldn't eat it and instead went straight to the bedroom door sticking her paws under trying to get to the big cat.  I looked into those automatic feeders that use a collar that sends a signal to the correct food dish, but I can't afford them.

This is putting a strain on my relationship with my big cat... which I am ashamed to admit, but this is why I decided to post my question in a forum.  I love them both very much.  I am worried about my big cat's health.

I would love some advice.

Thanking you in advance.

What are you feeding them?  Wet food does not have to be costly.  There are several threads here on TCS with suggestions:

Can you sit with your kitties as they eat, to prevent the chubbier kitty from stealing the other's food?  Or can you try feeding the smaller kitty in a different room and letting her out once she's done eating?
