And so do the kittens. They've never seen me with anything more than socks on my feet. I actually had to take the slippers off and round everyone back up for supper, that's how much it spooked them.
Earlier Sho was giving me strange looks and ran under the bed.
As to why I'm wearing uncomfortable slippers when it's too warm to be wearing them.. I can't go barefoot inside anymore. When I don't have shoes on I walk on the balls of my feet or toes and that's finally messed something up. The second metatarsal in my left foot is now so sore that I can't walk barefoot at all. (all hardwood floors)
I had thought the bruise in the arch of my foot that popped up the day before yesterday was from accidentally stepping on a can of cat food (I drop things/clumsy/bad luck) but that was more on the outside of my foot. I hope this means I didn't tear anything!
It looks like I'll be trying to find a podiatrist Monday to figure out what this is - I suspect my poor gait could be causing that metatarsal to overload, which will mean I'll be wearing something on my feet inside for good - no more going barefoot. I suppose the cats will eventually get used to it...
Anyone have any tips? I've never been to a podiatrist or thought that I ever would be.
Since it's inflammed (can feel it's a bit swollen) and there's a bruise would that be ice or soaking?
And if anyone's curious, I don't have weird toes. No long second toe, no short first toe, no bunion, and have never worn heels (re: clumsy).
