The ortho said we had to operate right away because the break is unstable. When I broke it the bones were displaced and had to be set and held back in line, and he says that if I accidentally put ANY weight on my foot it would cause it to pop back out of place and cause even more damage.Originally Posted by strange_wings
So soon! But at least you can get this over with and out of the way.
I haven't been checked in awhile but I do take supplements everyday already. The doctor seems to think its just a case of bad luck on this one. I am a serious klutz (sp?) so I take falls and trips pretty regularly normally with no or only minor ill effects. Apparently this break was caused by my instinctual attempt to catch myself with my other foot when the right slipped, then the left slipped too and all of my body weight landed on the ankle.Originally Posted by strange_wings
I wonder why you got such terrible breaks? Are you calcium and Vit. D levels good? It might be worth asking if there are any supplements you should take to help give your body what it needs to heal - but clear anything with you doctor first.
My parents will be with me all day at the hospital - all three of them (Dad, Mom, Stepmom) and have promised that if the doctor says it is OK for me to get something delivered, they will bring me the food of my choice. There is some concern I may be on a limited diet after due to the meds they have me on, but hopefully not!Originally Posted by lil maggie
Have someone bring you dinner while in the hospital. I don't know about anyone else but whoa, their food stinks!
Obviously the boss doesn't feel quilty at all.Originally Posted by LaRussa
That is just terrible, I hope your boss feels guilty as all get out cuz if not for him, you wouldn't have gone out that day. You are going thru so much pain and discomfort cuz you did what you were forced to and that's just not fair. I hope you aren't suffering much pain now, I really feel bad for you, take care.
Yeah, what she said! That makes me mad to hear that they fired you like that.Originally Posted by lil maggie

I am really sorry to hear you are losing your job! You've got enough to worry about with a broken ankle! That's so sad that they can do that and get away with it. Have you thought about calling a lawyer? Your boss sounds like a!
