I went to the movies last night, to watch Amityville Horror with Vicky, Loren, and Guillermo. Now, we went to the Las Piedras cinema... which is, several miles down the freeway from my city. Its like 20 minutes the drive, assuming you go at a good pace.
Now, the two cars we came in, were Loren's and Vicky's. And since Vicky lived near Guillermo and I lived near Loren I came with Loren and Vicky brought Guillermo.
Now... the movie was over at like 9:30 PM. And Loren was getting sleepy. She was in one of those states of heavy eyes, going to fall asleep soon, so I convinced her to let me drive. While its true I'm on a permit and haven't had the chance to drive in night conditions before, its legal since she's licensed and I would rather have a wide awake permit than a sleeping license
By the time I am driving down the highway around the Gurabo area...
I get pulled over. State Police...
I show the card... I am thinking what did I do... lets just say, Loren wasn't wearing her seatbelt, I don't know even how he noticed... but the responsible for that is the driver. And when I show him the learner's permit he then asks me to wake Loren up, asking me if her license is issued by "the State of Dreamland".
I am just biting my lips and thinking of how I am going to explain this to mom and how Loren's grinning her eyes thinking the trouble it is and all that stuff, when the policeman sees my name a bit on the license, sees that my second name is Herminio and my first surname is RodrÃ:censor:guez and asks me if I know professor Herminio RodrÃ:censor:guez... thats my father.
I say, yeah, I am his son... thats when the policeman says he's a student of my father in humanities at the university... I remember a bit how my father has mentioned that there's an unusual number of policemen in the class, most of them studying to see if they can get a higher rank, and I am like "Oh, really? Nice to meet you!"
And the policeman starts talking of how drive nicely, put on your seatbelt, and say hello to my father from him and all those niceties... And he lets me go...
And I am like *phew*.... getting outta there as soon as possible. Ok... THAT was a close call.
