i would like to know how to make some healthy catfood for my kitten becuse it likes meat but it hates cat and dog food can anyone give me a good recipe
Dr. Pierson (vet) has a recipe that several/many of raw feeders use. http://www.catinfo.org/?link=makingcatfood It can be modified somewhat depending on availability of protein/organs.
I do think it is very important that you do some basic reading to make sure you feed your cat the appropriate amounts of the appropriate foods. Cats do not live by meat alone--they need to eat some organs, some bones, some supplements sometimes. This is a good site for general information http://catcentric.org/2013/05/23/a-raw-feeding-terminology-discussion/
I started off with commercial raw--it has all the stuff in it a cat needs (available at most independent pet stores and in some main one like PetCo.) I needed to see if Ritz would even recognize it as food (she did!) and to do more research before I transitioned her to frakenprey/prey model raw. She now eats Frankenprey, loves it, and is an adventurous eater (goat anyone?)
I just started my cat Munchie on Dr. Pierson's recipe, it is really easy to make (I didn't use bones) and he loves it. He's eating like a champ now where he was hardly touching the cat food.
cprcheetah does provide a source of calcium in minerals: she uses eggshell instead of bones.
I do the same. I follow the prey model raw guidelines for feeding, but as my older cats don't know how, and won't tackle bones, I alternate between MCHA (calcium hydroxyapatite - freeze dried bone) and eggshell as the bone alternative.
Kittens usually transition easily to prey model raw. You can see if your kitten will eat the smaller bone of a chicken wing, or wings of cornish hen. Most young cats take right to it. Here is a sample menu, on a site full of information about how to properly feed prey model raw: http://catcentric.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/My-Feeding-Schedule.pdf
