I have a cat who is rather needy and always wakes up way earlier than I would like to. When he wakes up and I don't play with him, he starts jumping on things he shouldn't, knocking things down, etc so I put him out of my bedroom to try to get an hour or so of sleep. However within 5-10 minutes he begins scratching the door frame and has already cut grooves into it. I rent, so this is obviously a problem. I can't install any deterrent that requires drilling holes due to my rental rules, and even though he has food/water/toys/scratchers/access to a window for looking outside he still insists on trying to get in. I'm really at a loss. I feel like anti scratching tape would peel off the paint from the wood which would be even more unsightly, and I can't seem to find a removable deterrent that would protect the entire door (I feel like if I get a partial cover he would just start scratching the part that isn't covered) HELP
