My cat has been on prednisolone since early September, due to constant vomiting. I was supposed to start giving him a pill on every second day on week 3 of pred, but his vomiting issues almost immediately resumed when I did, so i consulted my vet through the phone and he recommended to continue the use of 1 pill a day for 30 more days. We're on day 27 of that new period.
My cat has looser stools due to pred (he didn't have diarrhea at all previously). But occasionally his diarrhea becomes really bad, like right now. He even vomited today for the first time in those 27 days, though his vomit looked more normal this time, compared to his frequent vomiting before - this time it was a foamy yellow with bits of grass and some hair, not undigested food like before. His diarrhea is kinda liquid, small drops right now. No appetite loss, he acts normal, except that he goes to the box more frequently, or asks to go outside (he doesn't like using his box). Still wants to eat a lot. I don't understand why suddenly his diarrhea is worse again. In three days I'm supposed to go down to 1 pill every second day and I'm not sure what to do. Feels like it's either vomiting or diarrhea, if one is helped, then the other comes back.
I give him Royal Canine digestive sensitive wet food, but have to admit that he got some super market wet food some days ago, due to me being low on cash. Could it be that the super market food messed him up? He also gets dry food with chicken, its supposed to be monoprotein food that helps with digestion (Cheshir is the brand or smth like that), but maybe chicken isn't good either?
