How to highlight username in blue?

I've been a member for a while now and feel a bit silly asking but I have never been able to figure out how to "call up" another member by highlighting their username in blue accompanied by the @ sign when replying in a post.

I use my Kindle most of the time (using the desktop version) if that makes a difference to certain settings on the site.

just put the @ right next to the name

I've tried that before and it didn't work. I'll try it again with your username.

Edit: nope didn't work.

On a computer, as you begin typing the username it'll autopopulate names that start with what you've typed and you can select them.

On my phone, both mobile and desktop versions have this option available so you can just tap it and type a name:
