Last Thursday we put my 14 year old baby, Lu to sleep. She had untreatable renal failure.
Her litter mate, Be is still with us. I'm worried about the stress the loss of her companion of 14 + years (they've been together since the womb after all) might cause her and the best ways of helping her cope with the loss of her friend.
The situation is compounded by the fact that it happened in the middle of a two-week visit by my inlaws to help us redecorate the house. So it's been chaos around here to begin with.
They are now gone and I think she's going to be feeling the adjustment. Fortunately both of them have always seemed to deal well with change but I want to make sure my remaining baby stays well!
TIA,
RJ
