Not sure if anyone else has read this article but I found it quite interesting. I always knew there were intricate relationships between the pet food industry, the FDA, AAFCO, and veterinarians, but never knew quite how involved they were. Thought I would share.

It's really very troubling the extent to which the pet food companies control literally everything and essentially regulate themselves.

It's why I personally chose to reject it entirely and go down the raw food route.

yep
I initially turned to raw food because of the damage that commercial food had done to one of my cats.
But when I realized that most veterinary schools are not only subsidized with very large donations from the large pet food companies, but that those "donations" often came with strings (like a seat on the board and/or curriculum influence) attached... that is when I turned my back on commercial food for good.
Going on 10 years now
Never looked back.
