How much Depredil { cortisone shot } is too much?

My cat had one shot I think it was 40 something as in strength and .25ml or something in volume and had another a week later. I don't know what's right and whats not. I read on some site if taken orally it can last up to 72 hours but if injected lasts in the system anywhere from 3-5 weeks. Obviously if that's the case then having two shots in one week is too much. The vet said though he needed a shot weekly. 

Anyone be able to shed some light on this situation. He was 5kgs in weight, suffering from lumps and had a big one on his throat.

The remnants of the medication lasts 3 to 5 weeks but it isn't at a therapeutic level.  The time between the shots really depends on the condition it's given for and any other health issues going on with the kitty.

Effective where therapy is required over a prolonged period (2 - 3 weeks) and where oral administration is less desirable.
Very effective in the cat.
