When my eyes start getting itchy and traffic starts picking up on the weekends from beach travelers.

Growing up in Michigan, I knew exactly when spring had arrived every year. Here's a breakdown:

1. Weather heats up to 50 F degrees for a week or two. This is what I call "false spring."

2. The temperature drops dramatically (one year I remember pretty well, it was 55 F at noon, 28 F at 4 PM), and we get the last snowstorm of the season; this usually happens sometime in early March, though I have seen this as late as April.

3. It gets hotter again. When the temperature reaches 50 F again, voila! You have spring.

Susan,  If you have ever been down my neck of the woods we have Crocuses (sp) popped up and flowering everywhere, I even managed to buy some Daffodils for my mam.

Buds on the trees and are about to burst into leaves, very spring to me :D
