Hey guys,

I have learned about the dangers of burning some candles and using certain essential oils around cats.

Does anyone know of any cat-safe alternatives to these?

Is heating vanilla-extract in the oven safe?

Heating vanilla extract is technically "safe," but the alcohol content makes it a bad choice, as it will evaporate quickly and will not really be worth it.

You can make your own spray. Get a spray bottle. Fill it 2/3 with water. Add two tablespoons of vodka and one tablespoon of vanilla extract.

There are some essential oils that are safe for cats, especially if you use the above method for a spray. Cedarwood, rosemary, and lemongrass are good choices. To be extra safe, spray them when the cat(s) are not in the room.
