The charity I volunteer for has a very small, odd room.
The building used to be a small food factory. The other half is a separate business; we have what I think was a large office space, with several small rooms.
For some odd reason, there's a tiny room leading into the women's bathroom. The men's room doesn't have this. I don't know what it was used for; maybe for a bathroom attendant, but who needs one there?
It has a 1970's orange armless love seat; faux leather. I just love the burn holes from the smokers on the upholstery!
A local hotel donated the furniture, hence the burn holes. So classy. I want to trash it, and put a small armchair that is in better shape in its place, along with a small, round table beside it. This leaves a bare corner, about 3 ft, of space. Do you have any ideas for something practical to put there to balance out the chair and table? I don't want to put anything that attracts knick-knacks, as one of the ladies tends to clutter the place up with "charming" vintage 1980's yard sale junk--literally, on every surface. I've been sneaking around and hiding the knick-knacks from this room and the bathroom. (My own personal Hell was the glass shelf under the long rectangular mirror in the bathroom. The entire, 4 ft shelf was filled with ugly tacky, mis-matched knick-knacks. The shelf is for putting down a comb, lipstick, etc. while using the mirror. And I resented moving that junk to clean it. After suffering for one year, I hid it all!)
We host a Bingo game twice a month, so the bathroom gets used mostly then. I thought about a coat tree, but I don't know if the Bingo players would want to put their coats where they couldn't see them, or maybe forget to take them home. We did have a player leave her down vest on her chair recently, so they may forget.
Ideally, I'd place two matching chairs angled beside the round table, but I don't think they have any that I could use. I only see one of this particular chair that is not being used. I can't/they can't afford to buy anything, and we may be moving in a few years, so no point in buying something we may not be able to use elsewhere.
