Hello, my name is Ryan. I'm a musician, writer, and cat lover. I'm currently writing a story with my cats as main characters. I'm planning to post it on this message board as a serial.
What a gracious welcome!
I do have two cats of my own, Roger and Austin. Austin is a "tuxedo cat." He is the smartest cat I've ever known. Every morning, he climbs out of my bed, walks to the sliding glass door and watches the sun rise. Sometimes I think he must be a human trapped in a cat's body (not that bad a fate). Roger is a beautiful Korat with very faint stripes. He has six toes on each of his front paws, a rarity here in the midwest. He's not even a year old, we got him at about six months. Whereas Austin is very laid back, cool, and agile; Roger is very pushy, conceited, and clumsy. The duality of these two cats, the way they play off each other, is a great plot device. That's why I've made Roger and Austin the two main characters in my story.
Speaking of which, I'm confused about something. I tried to attach the first part of my cat story to a post in Paws and Reflect, but I didn't know if it worked, so I deleted the post. I saved the file as a .txt file, but I didn't see an icon telling me that there was an attachment to my post. Could there be something I'm not doing?
I don't know if you can attach text files. I've only seen the Attach File thing used for posting pictures.
Probably the best thing to do would be to copy the text of your story, start a new thread and just paste the text into the posting box. I'm looking forward to reading your story, and getting to know Roger and Austin through the story.
Hi, Ryan. We're so happy to have you! I got a notification that you posted a story, and when I got there it was gone. When do we get to see it? It sounds fascinating. I'm not as good at computers as Heidi, but I would cut and paste by dragging the mouse over the section I wanted to post, and hit C, then paste by hitting v. I'm looking forward to:
"Introduction to The Parking Lot Cats." (Free advertising! How's that?)
Thanks for all your help. I'm proceeding now to take your advice. I'l warn you ahead of time, this post will not have idents. I hope it's not hard to read.

Welcome to TCS, Ryan and Austin and Roger. As you can see, this is a great place with a lot of friendly people.
I'm looking forward to reading your story. My Ivo, like Austin, is a tuxedo. Although if I were writing a serial about her life it would be...wake up, get pets, eat, use the litter box, watch the pigeons, sleep all day, eat, use the litter box, sleep some more.
I read the first installment of your story last night. It is really good! Really captured my attention from the start. Can't wait for the next chapter.
