I'm mom to two cats, Carita (Cara Marie) and Pumpkin (and, two humans). I adopted Pumpkin after a cat I had been caring for for my daughter was killed by a dog that got inside my yard. I fell in love with him on sight, which is a good things because he was feral. (I posted in another thread about this.) He is now the friendliest cat I have ever seem (his vet says he acts just like a friendly dog). He is very big and I have seem men go into a panic mode when he runs to greet them, even though he wears a leash when he is in the front yard. Carita is the opposite, she is dainty and shy and runs inside if she hear a truck. I wasn't planning on adopting a second cat just a few months after Pumpkin but went to the Human Society to look at the cats. My daughter opened a room with cats to see another one. She walked right out and when directly to the adoption room. I guess she decided we were the ones. We thought it was funny and ended up adopting her. She is not what you would call a beautiful cat except for her huge eyes but she is a sweet heart and very independent unlike Pumpkin who is a mama's boy. Neither is allowed to roam except in my large fenced backyard. They have been with me 8 years.
