It's great to finally join TCS after lurking here for a few months.
This is one of the friendliest forums I've ever seen and everyones' kitties are beautiful! I own what I think is a Maine Coon but I'm not sure. She is a rescued cat who is extremely affectionate, chirps like a Maine Coon, has the tufts of fur between the toes and on the tips of the ears, likes water, and has a long body with a long fluffy tail. Her fur is also long and fluffy and she big, beautiful greenish/gold eyes. The only thing that makes me question whether or not she is a Maine Coon is the fact that she weighs only 9 lbs. I love this cat so much! Fours years ago we found her curled up in our driveway. She was extremely skinny and starved for attention. We took her inside and fed her and the rest is history. A few weeks after we adopted her the vet discoved that she was actually a nuetered male. Because the cat had always been so affectionate we assumed he was a girl, I still call him a "she". I never could get used to the fact that our cat was a boy. Sounds stupid I know.
If the sex issue didn't make you think I'm a total weirdo the name certainly will. When we just got her we called her "our new kitty" and we tried to come up with a good name for months but she always answered to new kitty so New Kitty remains her name to this day.
Sorry for the long post but I just wanted everyone to know about New Kitty and how great it is to be a member of TCS.
