Hi, my name is Diana, and I'm nineteen years old, living at college with my two animals, Butterfinger the Holland Lop rabbit and Mochiko the Syrian hamster. I do not have a kitty yet, but I will... on this Friday
The deal with this is....
I have a friend who's cat had a litter of kittens. This was not planned, but my friend is very...financially troubled...and cannot afford a spay for her kitty. (I've looked into finding free spay and neuter clinics in her area, but haven't had success yet )
Either way, now the kittens are about three months old, and I've learned that my apartment complex does allow cats (I learned this before moving in, and paid the pet deposit for "Rabbit, hamster, and possibly cat" ). My friend has had terrible trouble rehoming the kittens, and does not want to have to give them up to a shelter (I don't blame her!), so I'm agreeing to take one and she's bringing it over on Friday. (She can't keep them because her landlord does not allow that many cats)
So, ever since I agreed to take one (About a week ago) I've been looking EVERYWHERE for cat/kitten information. Behaviour, what to expect, training, what's good and what's not, food, etc. I even ran across the Softpaws site and after it was reccomended to me by someone, I've decided to try it at least once. As another means of gathering information, I decided to ask my rabbit forum (My second family
) about how kittens and rabbits get along, what's the safest thing to do, etc, and one member (Maherwoman) reccomended this site to me. I've been lurking around this site a couple days, just trying to learn as much as I possibly can. And...my head is packed with kitty stuff, now, haha.
Now, ABOUT THE ACTUAL KITTEN.
He's a generic mixed breed little guy. He's gray, and you can tell by his coat that he'll have long hair when he grows up. I'll post pictures the day he arrives if you guys want to see
As for a name, I think I've decided on Kadaj. (Pronounced 'kah-dazsh')
That's about it! I just thought I'd introduce myself properly before asking any questions on the forum
