Hi all ive just joined here as i came across some posts through a Google search of FHL. One of my four kitties has been in the vet for almost three weeks. She's had a feeding tube in for about a week. She sems to be doing well but then seems to take a step back again. Vets are sending her home tomorrow fot me to continue tube feeding her here in hopes that being in a comfortable, familiar environment might help. Her potassium is low, despite being on fluids and them trying yo supplement it and her temp seems to be ok for a few days but then goes back up again. I know shes been on injectable antibiotics and they're switching her to oral to come home but im not sure of exactly what other meds she's on, if any.
While the vets have said that most cats that dont make it usually pass away within a week, they've marked her as poor prognosis because of her blood results (liver enzymes have shown some improvement over the weeks but there have been issues with red snd white cells aswell as the potassium being low.
I guess I'm hoping someone might have seen a similar situation where the kitty has pulled through. Or have any advice on what I can do at home to increase her chances as much as possible?
