Hi all-- brand new to the forum.
Last weekend we adopted a lovely animal from a recue organization. Chesna (slavic for "peace and calm") had a very traumatic life until being rescued from a precarious situatin in late October. (This is a link to the story of her rescue: http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york...days-tracks-brooklyn-station-article-1.968829 ) We have now had her about 5 days and she is stil spending the bulk of her time under a bed. she venturs out fromt he bed when no one is home or awake. and then she will only go to a closet that we leave open for her. Until today we have been puttingher food bowl under the bed for her. today, my dh left the food bowl a foot from the bed and left the room. She came out to eat. When we reach under hte bed to pt her, she often seem to enjoy it, but will never come to us. any suggestions or ideas? how long can this go on? weeks? months?
