She has the Van pattern, which means that she's also a bicolor. That's her coloring, though, her breed would be Domestic Shorthair. She's a pretty girl for certain!

Thanks for that. I was reading up on the Van traits, and she displayed a lot of those. Especially the water thing. She has no-issues at all with having a bath, tho her fur isn't water repellant. Anyway fingers crossed, I hope her kittens will keep her coloring.

This is a fairly strong pattern so kittens gets this pattern too quite often - sometimes the whole litter.

Is she already preg or are you just thinking on it?

Lol, just happily overfed. She's about 6 months old I think. But am thinking ahead and hoping to get her an all white partner or mating her with an all white male.

An all white partner will give all white kittens. To get van-patterned kittens best is another van patterned male - but as said, this pattern is strong. We often see barn cats where the whole litter gets the pattern as the van patterned momma.

Just be sure fathers pattern isnt too dominat. Say an all black one, or black and white tuxedo. Probably an all red should do too.

However, the real question is, if you shall do make this litter. The world is full of moggies whom needs a home.

So my advice is a strong no. Unless you are REALLY decided to have biological kittens after her.

Thanks for the advice, after the first litter I'll have her fixed. The kittens have all been booked by family members, so they'll end up in good homes. Especially if they all look like her. We'll keep just one from her litter..

And yes I am hoping most of the litter will look like her. I am in West Africa at the moment, and we don't normally see cats with this van pattern. So she is special..

Half my family lives in Ghana. My husband is a Tardi boy!

Oh nice. Very similar to Ghana. Most of our family lives in a city called Sekondi-Takoradi. It's on the coast. I didn't grow up in Ghana, but my husband did. The cats in Africa do certainly look a little different....Haha the other day my husband said that the cats in America are scary looking lol. Partially the Sphynx cats....

Well enjoy your time there, and stay blessed
