Hi. My friends cat has been living outside for a couple of weeks and it is pooping on my grass. He does not bury his poop so when I go outside I see it. The cat has been living inside for 5 years with. Another cat.this cat was pooping and peeing all over the house that's when she decided to make it an outside cat. I love cats. I have 2 and they mean the world to me. Could there be a medical problem. What can do so the cat maybe can poo somewhere else. Please help. It is driving me crazy. My friend wants to put a litter box out. Would that help. But he stopped using the litter box inside.

Oh that poor cat being shoved outside like that, how cruel. He needs to be brought back inside, the cats need a vet visit to rule out medical issues for not using the litter tray. And then look into the behaviour side of things.

Agreed, you can't just take a cat that's been indoors all it's life and just throw it outside like that. If the vet visit goes well and there's no medical issues it could be a territorial thing. Check here for some possible tips: http://jacksongalaxy.com/

Hope this helps.

If its not a medical issue, its definitely a territorial issue and throwing your cat outside is not a solution (because cats just don't not use the litter box to signify they want outside
They are trying to tell you something - but nobody listened hence why he's still pooping nearby and the problem is not fixed). I would check out Jackson Galaxy for sure, he deals with this sort of thing all the time. He also has a TV show out called "My cat from Hell" and he shows owners how to alleviate various issues there having with their cats.

Here's a good clip that might shed some light on why your friend's cat is behaving the way it is.
