Hi everyone!!! Omg this is my very first post of any kind that I have ever done!!! Lol I usually just research but never be the one to post to a thread. So I'm really hoping I get some responses of any kind:)
So I want to share quickly about how I ended up adopting a kitten. Me and my hubby decided to visit a local pound/animal shelter for the first time ever in hopes of finding a cute puppy.. No luck, so we decided to check out the rest of the place with no desire to adopt a cat, at all! So then we see Tommy!! Tiny little white fur-ball. He looked up and we noticed his 2 different color eyes! That's it he was ours! Lol u must know I have never been a cat person! But this guy is so unique both looks and personality I feel so lucky to have him in my life! He is so sweet and loves attention, but from only me and then hubby. He's a big woos to people he doesn't know or trust and kids make him uncomfortable, and again it's the trust he doesn't feel stable around kids they either jump or bump him or jerk around lol. Anyways I just wanted to describe his personality to help identify his breed. He's friendly with other cats and playful. He doesn't go outside and prefers the inside! Sleeps with us, and likes to talk instead like others cats meow.. He's all white, short hair, 1blue,1green eye. What do u guys think?? Or could he just be a mutt since he was in the shelter? See photo:) thank you guys!!!! Please respond, I will be waiting :)

He is probably  a domestic home made combination.  But you can compare him with the thailandian breed of   Mao Thakee (spelling??) whom are white and are renown for their eyes of different color.

I'm not sure what that cat is in the picture, but it doesn't look like a Turkish Van. Turkish vans have color on their head and tail, and they have long fur in the winter. I'd say you have a beautiful domestic short hair! Or you can call him a "moggie" which is the cat word for mutt.

Something to watch for with white cats is their hearing. A deafness gene is often inherited along with blue eyes and white fur, and in odd-eyed cats the ear on the side of the blue eye is sometimes deaf. Not always, but it's more common than in other cats.

Congratulations on your wonderful new family member!

Agree with Molly.   This "Van" cat on the pic, is no typical Van - so its either a mistake by someone, or  a verrry atypical van.

However, their relatives the Turkish angora may have two different colored eyes.  Find me a shorthaired Turkish Angora, and here you are.

Of course, shorthaired T.A. are very atypical too, but more probable than this "Van" you found the pic on.   :)

Sorry for me trying to be a little merry.
