It seems like everyone is telling their story so here is mine and Paddys.
Paddy came into my life on a walk home from work while i was at university, it was about one in the morning and i saw a dead cat in the road, i was heart broken as my mum has cats, so i decided to pick it up out of the road and look for a collar or tags, when i picked it up it was warm and limp but had very subtle movements. I lived near a emergency vet at the time so carried him to the vets to see if he had an owner and mainly to make him well again. I got him there and no microchip was found the vet reckoned the state he was in (he was very very thin) he was a stray and the best option was to put him to sleep. I felt awful that the cat could be someones, or could have had a terrible life ended in a equally terrible way so i used my student loan for the term to fix him. I did put up a load of flyers and ads but no one came forward.
Now hes been my shadow for 7 years, licks my tears when i cry, cuddles up with the budgies, demands food and takes up my laptop, my sofa, my bed, tells me off when i dont take him to work with me, comes on car rides.
The loan money i spent to have his legs reset, and all the other damage he endured fixed up was the best money i have ever spent, and still makes me wonder why people do not stop when they hit a cat. Paddy was alive and may have been there a while, but glad hes a survivor
What a beautiful story! I can't think of a better use for student loan funds. And I believe tears are a wonderful treat for kitties as long as they don't get too much..sodium levels could be too high on regular basis
