Hi everyone! I have already posted in the pregnant cats thread, but I wanted to formally introduce myself in the right forum. I am the proud mommy of two incredibly sweet cats, Sophie and Miles, who are expecting their first (and ONLY) litter any day now!
They were given to me in October in order to give them a permanent home. Their original owners house was flooded in the horrible rains we got on the east coast a few months ago and the pair had been house hopping while they worked on fixing the flooding damage. Their owners felt bad about them moving from place to place and had heard through the grape vine that I was thinking of getting cats again. (I had a cat for years that was the love of my life, and we had to put him down a few years ago and I hadn't had it in my heart to replace him until recently.) So long story short, they came to me. Well, I brought them into the vets in November to get caught up on shots in and schedule being fixed and we found out that Sophie was around 4 weeks pregnant. So we got Miles fixed and now we're waiting for their kittens to be born so Sophie can be spayed.
The pregnancy was a complete shock, but I don't regret taking in these two cats. They are so sweet and their personalities complement each other nicely. Miles is half grey tabby, half Maine Coon, and Sophie is half ginger tabby, half Siamese, so I have no idea what to expect from these kittens! I had no idea the surprise that Santa had for me this Christmas, but hopefully I will wake up to kittens under the tree!
I love this site and it has been INCREDIBLY helpful in getting ready for my unexpected litter. I have never been involved with a pregnant cat, so this is all very new to me, and the hours and hours that I've spent reading past threads on here have put most of my nervous feelings at ease. I couldn't be more happy to be part of this community!
