Here is Kittyhawk, my domestic. She was very litterally "dumped"; abandoned at our local dump as a kitten. We took her home to find a home for her, she came down with distemper the next day, survived, and after that we couldn't bring ourselves to place her!
This is Little Guy, technically my mom's cat, but we live in the same household! Years ago when I lived in town I had ridden my bike to Safeway to get bannanas. On my way back I saw a tiny kitten motionless in the road, with cars whizzing over the top of its head. I assumed he was dead until he moved. I stopped traffic and picked him up to find that he was unharmed; none of the wheels had hit him. I put the 4-5 week old kitten in my backpack with the bannanas and took him home!
And Sirocco, who has not spent one day of his life unwanted or unloved:
