I've read about various people loving their Furminator, but the cost always seems so outrageous to me that I got one of those knock-offs for less money and was really not terribly happy with it because in order to groom pet from the other side it required that the blade be removed and turned around.
I now have a medium sized Furminator and it didn't cost me $50.00 to get it.
I bought a PetVac2
Now I must mention that I saw a news show on the first PetVac and they said it wasn't very good for grooming and sucking up the pet hair. I took the poor review into account when I ordered my PetVac2, keeping in mind that if it worked, then great and if not, then I'd still have the furminator for $10 less than it is being sold retail and 15 feet of extension vacuum hose should I need or want it. I also figure that the hose could be attached directly to vacuum, (regular or wet/dry), if you want to use and weak suction is an issue.
I haven't tried the vac part yet, but I am real pleased with the Furminator, especially the fact that the handle is extra large to hold on to. Between carpal tunnel and arthritis I rater prefer things larger and easier to grip.
At any rate, I thought someone might find this info helpful. So if you do, then good on ya and if you don't, then no foul.
