I've been in the process of reintroducing my indoor/outdoor cat Bob to the indoors for the last 3 months. We have gotten over the bed-urination problem and while there is some marking going on, it has decreased tremendously (put in Feliway misters, added litter boxes, and am doing double duty on cleaning them).
The problem isn't the marking now, but the constant wrestling between our indoor alpha male Stumpy and Bob. Bob was outdoor alpha cat and Stumpy the indoor alpha cat. There are no serious fights, just a strong battle of wills and strength between these 2 boys. Stumpy is 8 and has run the house for 6 years. Bob is 5. I have a big house with lots of room for them to keep their space.
I've talked to a vet and he offered up Prozac as a suggestion for a few months until they get over this adjustment period. I've never heard of it used on cats before. Has anyone had experience with using this on cats and what is your opinion on how it worked?
Thanks for any and all replies!
