So, Raphael has officially been in our family for one year!
I was volunteering on a Sunday afternoon after a long hiatus from the shelter (I wasn't ready after Lola's death). I noticed that one cat who had absolutely stolen my heart 6 months before was still there...after a lot of sickness and whatnot. He looked AWFUL. His hair was greasy and dull and he had lost a lot of weight despite the care he was getting and he was so depressed and angry...not the sweet chatty boy I had met during the summer! I couldn't leave him there!
So TORE HOME and woke Ian up from a nap and explained the situation, and we TORE BACK TO THE SHELTER for Ian to meet him. Well, being depressed and under-stimulated, he yowled and ook a swipe at Ian. We signed the paper, came home (the car trip home is a story in and of itself) and here we are! He is a sweet, full, happy boy with no more symptoms of IBD or chrinic dental disease and his fur is glossy and soft! But he's still loud. VERY loud. He is a healthy 8.5 year old!
Happy Gotcha Day, sweet boy!
