I've tried three different hairball gels.
Cat will have none of it.
Have to force feed it to her.
All three said cats love the taste.
Maybe I don't have a cat?????
Any suggestions????
She eats only dry food again.
Stopped eating the wet food again.

Egg yolk. Egg yolk powder. Or egg yolk lecithin.
How Best to Manage Hairballs

I have also had good success with pumpkin. Krista doesn’t like pumpkin itself. But she does like Tiki Cat’s Tuna with Pumpkin. And currently, she is loving Rawz Rabbit with Pumpkin.

If it's available where you live, GimCat Malt Soft Extra works for my Hima.

GimCat also has some different flavored pastes like cheese, meat, etc

Some days Hima doesn't want to lick it off from the tube but will lick it off from my finger. Putting it on a little piece of boiled turkey/chicken also might help.

My previous cat would not eat the 3-4 different hairball gels and pastes we got him, but would happily lick Vaseline off my finger. Much cheaper too!

I've always used cat lax. It's cheaper than the others and most of my cats I've had will lick it right off the tube.

It’s been years and maybe this is a different product but I was told to put some on her front foot and she would lick it off when she groomed herself.

I didn't see anyone recommend butter/margarine. A dab on your finger or on her paw, a couple times a week as a maintenance dose, should help hairballs pass through the system.

I have had great success with my maine coon, giving here a daily dose of Greenies hairball treats---she hardly ever gets a hairball and if she does, ejects it easily

I, too, use Greenies hairball treats (the only treats my girl gets), and I see the hair in her stools and she's never vomited any. She tends to constipation, and the Greenies seem to help that, too.

Our little maine coon girl gets some upsetting hairballs and we are freaking out a bit with the "is it a problem????" vs "is this normal?" thing. (goodness it can be so many variables!)
But anyway...
We tried laxatone and that was palatable for her for about a day... :-/
So far we've had the best consumption rates with the Vet's Best Hairball Relief Digestive Aid tabs...She eats them with her food and they seem to help when we feed her them regularly.
