Group Scent article

I read a really interesting article about group scent and how it can be facilitated in multi-cat households. (summary: brush every cat with the same brush daily, rotating the order of cats and not removing the hair between cats.) Does anyone here help establish a group scent for a cat on the outs or when introducing a new cat? I've had good success with putting vanilla on both cats when introducing a new cat. I knew it would make them smell the same, but didn't know about "group scent".

I think establishing the group scent (I usually call it family scent) is something many of us recommend either by petting the cats with the same piece of clothing or cloth, brushing, etc.

I'm glad you found the vanilla trick worked well! I've never tried it before but have heard good reviews.
