Giving Birth

my cat will give birth in a week. Is it okay to close her down in a very big tent-ish thing with tulles? I will be able to check on her and everything but I wonder will she be too stressed about it.

She is not using it much but it’s comfy and she can move comfortably.

I put my Gracie's birthing box in a room that I could shut the door and the closet doors. I put a litter pan, food and water in the room. This worked well when I went to work, so I was confident she wasn't going to find a place in the basement or in an unsafe place. I made a tent over her birthing box with blanket's so it was dark. One day, she was extra clingy and vocal so I put her in the box with the blankets and she stayed. When I went to check on her, she was in labor in the box safe and sound. Hope this helps.

Hi! It depends, she may not want that for her nesting area You could try it and see how she reacts.

I did the same as Kimberly07 and had my queen shut off in the bathroom. She couldn't hide, had plenty of room to move around, and seemed to feel very secure and safe with her babies in a small space.
