So my 18 year old cat, Sandy, has a dehydration problem.
Her blood work came out good, for an old lady.
But we had to give her some saline.
She perked up right after, so it's working for her.
Going to take her once a week to see if it will help.
I would rather she just drink more water.
I got her a water fountain think fresh water would be better.
She drinks from it, but I'd like her to drink more.
Any ideas/suggestions????

Here is an article on getting cats to drink more: Tips To Increase Your Cat’s Water Intake – TheCatSite Articles

Also, there is a new product out there called Hydra Care. It's pretty pricey, but probably less expensive than once a week Vet expense for fluids.

Many people do sub-q fluids at home. We've done it many times for our kidney cats. It sounds daunting, but for most cats it's pretty easy once you get the supplies.

Lots of good information.
She's strange.
Doesn't care for tuna.
First cat I've had that doesn't go nuts over tuna.
Also doesn't care for wet food.
I've tried as many different one's that I could find.
She'll eat a little of it, then never again.
She doesn't even care for human food much.
She's the first female cat I've had.
Probably reason for the quirks.

It's been a little while, and thank goodness she likes the fountain.
She has been drinking lots more water, and seems to be so much better.
She just turned 18yo on Jan 1
Wish i knew about the fountain long ago.
