Name a song title that contains a woman's name
Lola - Eric Clapton
Layla was definitely Clapton. There are two versions-- the first was the "rocked out" version released when he was with Derek and the Dominoes, which he helped form in the early 70's. It's widely considered one of the great rock songs of all time. I agree, and especially love the 3 min. piano coda at the end.Or layla
The second version was recorded by Clapton a few years later, and is the more mello or acoustic version you hear. The lyrics are the same, and I believe they have something to do with Clapton's secret love for Beatle George Harrison's wife at the time. I could be remembering wrong about that, so maybe one of you guys can correct me.
Lola, another great song, was released by The Kinks back in the late 60's or early 70's.
