Fuzzy fuzzy kitten--is he going to be a longhair?

I recently adopted this 4 month old kitten. His coat is wild and unruly but not quite what I'd call long--wondering if people with more cat experience think he'll end up with long hair. His ear hair is extra long. His coat is still dull, which I attribute to his rough start in life (he came in to the shelter at 3-4 weeks old with a bad pneumonia and blind from herpesvirus). Now he's a healthy, fearless little cat who does just fine without eyesight.

I think he will have a medium coat. My boy has a longer mane, britches and abdominal fur. He changes with the seasons and his mane is much heavier in the winter, although this summer he kept most of his mane. He looked like your boy when he was a kitten.

I think you may be right. Looking at him more closely, it does look like his mane and abdominal fur is long and full, while the fur on the rest of his body is more wispy and closer to medium-length.
