Please wave a hello to my sister who will be flying over to your shores today!
Her plane is due to leave London Heathrow at 12.30 GMT going to Philly (where she is staying for two weeks with her girlfriend).
I'm jealous too Gilly! She's probably seen more of the US than me, and I live here!!!Originally Posted by Sar
Gilly, that's so lovely!
I am, however, entirely jealous that she got to tour the US in a camper!
Well I think that they would like to, but S is not sure she wants to leave her family, which is how my sis feels also. The other problem is, my parents have not taken it very well that my sister has a girlfriend. Only yesterday my mum was crying to A that she didn't want her to go as it won't get her anywhere...Originally Posted by Sar
Do they ever plan on moving to be together?

So not only do they have to deal with the fact that they live miles away, but they also have to deal with the family stigma that surrounds them bothI shall add though, I am very, very happy for them!

I am not in the US...but I will long distanceOriginally Posted by Gilly
It's her 5th time...
She met her g/f on the internet about 5 years ago but they didn't meet up in person until 4 years ago. My sister went on a road trip through the USA for 3 months in a camper van! She was with another traveller (who she also met online). They started their trip in San Francisco and ended up in New York. She did so much in the space of 3 months - route 66, Niagra falls, every famous place in the USA she went to!It was at the end of her trip that she went to Philly to meet up with her g/f - they hit it off instantly.
It amazes me how two people can meet their soul mate thousands of miles away! Her g/f came to England for 1 year a few years ago and since then they have been taking trips back and forth.... Good luck to them because I know long distance relationships can be hard
