Is anyone using a food dehydrator?

I see them all the time for next to nothing at Goodwill.  I've thought about getting one for myself but don't need any more gadgets. Then it occurred to me today that things like the chicken liver could be dehydrated, I would assume.  What a cool way to make raw treats?

Please share your ideas...

I considered it too, but home dehydrators make the consistency like... meat jerky. It's chewy, not crunchy/powdery. If they like the texture, I'm see no reason NOT to do it. But I don't give my cats treats. I use freeze dried foods to get them to eat stuff they don't want to, so I need it to be able to be crushed and powdery.

I was hoping it would be a powder, haven't ever tried jerky with them.  I have had some good fruit snacks a friend made with one.

I think it's a difference between freeze drying, and dehydrating. But if they're super cheap, and you can make dried fruit with it you like, give it a go! :D
