I've been using Advantage Multi Topical Solution on my 5 cats for a few years now.
It claims to treat fleas, heartworms, hookworms, roundworms and ear mites. That seems like a lot of treatment in such a small package.
Is all of this really necessary since they get annual vaccines?
For instance Advantage 2 treats fleas only and it's half the price.

Vaccines don't prevent or treat parasites.

Many people feel that indoor only cats do not need a parasite preventive (or vaccines except for maybe rabies per state law but that's another topic). Indoor only cats who do go outside occasionally on a leash or catio may need a parasite preventative depending on what parasites are common in the area and the risk of getting parasites.

Hi. It all depends on your cats' access to the outdoors, where things beyond fleas are a bigger issue. But you could also look into Advocate - which is the same as Advantage Multi and see if you can buy it at a lesser cost. The two treatments contain the same active ingredients.
