My Cole, who's 14, has been diagnosed with FIP. He has an abdomen full of fluid.
He is eating, drinking and acting normal, and does not appear to have any pain or breathing problems. We discussed his situation with the vet and she agrees he is not in distress. So he is in isolation in my bedroom and is thrilled to be an "only cat".
My question: Has anyone ever had a cat with wet FIP and had the fluid drained? Was it helpful? Harmful? How long did it take for the fluid to re-accumulate? The vet did not seem to think draining the fluid was a good idea, but 2 weeks of Prednisone haven't helped at all. He is huge, and is starting to have trouble grooming himself because of his round-ness.
Thank you!!!!
